I’ve been in pursuit of music and art grappling with climate change over the past few weeks.
First, I saw the world premiere of Julia Wolfe’s concert unEarth, which is part of the New York Philharmonic’s Earth-themed series.
It was at moments inspiring, doomy at others, and was more theatrical than most works for orchestra – with several choirs and an elaborate projection design to match.
